Model
A Model groups a diagram behind its own input and output signature. The palette calls a new local model Empty Model.
Behavior
Section titled “Behavior”A model’s step defines its behavior. In general,
(outputs[n], state[n+1]) = step(inputs[n], state[n], parameters).
A stateless model has no stored state; a stateful model keeps a separate state
for each instance. Grouping a diagram does not itself add a tick of delay.
| Direction | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Inputs | Defined by the model’s step signature | One port for each declared input. |
| Outputs | Defined by the model’s step signature | One port for each declared output. |
Ports can have different types. Input and Output blocks expose a local model’s interface.
Parameters
Section titled “Parameters”There is no fixed parameter set. The selected model supplies its own parameters and defaults.
Example
Section titled “Example”A model Scale takes u: f64, multiplies it by a parameter factor, and returns
y: f64. With factor = 3 and u = 2, its output is 6 on the same tick.
Two instances can use different factors.
