Dead Zone

Outputs zero inside the configured interval and the offset beyond the nearer limit outside it.

y = u - upper_limit when u > upper_limit; y = u - lower_limit when u < lower_limit; otherwise y = 0.0. Bounds are inclusive for the zero region.

Direction Name Type
Input u T
Output y T
Name Type Default Meaning
T type (default f64) f64 Float scalar type
lower_limit T -0.5 Lower edge of the zero region
upper_limit T 0.5 Upper edge of the zero region

T defaults to f64 and is a scalar float type; comparisons are not lifted to arrays. Keep lower_limit <= upper_limit for the intended dead zone.

With limits -1 and 1, input samples -2, 0.5, 3 produce -1, 0, 2.
